Desperate
I heard this song “Desperate For You” and I began to say to God, “I want to be desperate for you”.
As I prayed I found that I am the most desperate for God when I am in the midst of all my pain, trials and temptations that come my way. I wanted to be desperate for God but I did not know I was asking for growth. Growth comes with difficulty, pain and hard times. I did not know that to have that starvation for you would cause you to bring challenges to me, challenges that help me know who you are. When you fulfilled my request, I complained. I complained about the pain, the hard times, and not having enough. I complained about the hard boss, about the sickness, about not understanding. I complained about the rude clerk, the brokenness of friendship, the job, the co-workers… it was all for my benefit and I complained. I did not understand when you spoke to me about mumbling, grumbling, constantly complaining and trying to plead my case, you were doing a work in me.
Thank you. Thank you for revelation light, for revealing yourself to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for loving me anyway.
Truly I am completely lost without you.
