Confident Trust
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.”
Hebrews 10:35, KJV
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” Hebrews 10:35, NIV
Did you know that we can throw away our confidence? Our confidence is our faith in God. Satan sits and nags at us with his lies to get us to throw our trust in God away. When things don’t happen like we think they should Satan is right there to wear us down with lies so that we will not trust God.
For example, we pray for God to heal our bodies and even though we have many scriptures that tell us God hears and answers our prayers (1 John 5:14, Matthew 7:8, Luke 11:9) because we do not see, or feel the healing in our timing, we began to doubt God. Scripture tells us to not be moved by what we see because we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) Just because we do not see the immediate healing does not mean Go did not answer our prayer.
When we doubt God, we are throwing away our confident trust in him along with our rewards. Our rewards may consist of healing, refuge, provisions, supply, abundance and all that we have asked God for and more. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6, KJV )
We must remember that we are in a war and the battlefield is in our mind. God sent his Spirit, the Holy Spirit, our most trusted advisor to guide us through these battles and to assist us with anything we need. Satan is a spirit who is consistently strategizing ways to deceive us into throwing away our confident trust in God. If we are not careful we cannot only lay down our trust in God and lose all of our great rewards, but we can even lay down our salvation and that would be a terrible tragedy! Satan cannot take away our faith or our confidence in God, he can only suggest that we throw it away.
Father,
Thank you that no one can take away our faith and confident trust in you! We praise you for the authority over the enemy! Thank you for the Holy Spirit our most trusted advisor who guides us through each battle. Amen!
